My name is Javier Clemente Engonga, an African thinker, writer, and strategist who has dedicated his life to envisioning and shaping the future of our continent.

When I look at Cameroon today, I see a nation standing at the same crossroads where China stood 20 to 30 years ago. At that time, China was still considered “the world’s factory-in-waiting.” It was underestimated, often dismissed, but those who understood its potential knew the truth: the awakening of a giant was inevitable.

I believe with full conviction that Cameroon can become the China of Africa within the next 15 to 20 years. But there is one condition: we must begin today. Delay means decline, but action today means transformation tomorrow.

Why Cameroon? Because Cameroon is the heart of Africa — geographically, culturally, and economically. It is the meeting point of West and Central Africa, with a richness of resources, people, and potential unlike any other. If Cameroon awakens and rises, if it assumes its rightful role as an industrial and economic giant, then the whole of Africa will rise with it.

This is not just an idea — it is a duty. The transformation of Cameroon into an African powerhouse will not only benefit its 30 million citizens, but it will also send a shockwave of progress, hope, and dignity across the continent.

China showed us what was possible when vision met discipline and determination. Now, it is Africa’s turn. It is Cameroon’s turn. And I say to the world, to investors, to governments, and above all to the African youth: the future is already here — but only if we dare to build it.
